06:24 pm - Those years of conventions paid off http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poCnmkjWhTs
Didn't even win a ticket for the Nokia TH event in Cologne, had decided to take holidays there anyway, and it worked beyond my highest expectations : they let us in and gave us the whole deal : acoustic concert, with one more song than planned (pretty much my perfect set list for such a short set, too), Bill's voice recovered and is better than before, even, so is the new song (quite geil live), fan package with exclusiv kontent, and OMG SIGNING SESSION.
The video above was taken by the friend following me, so yaye, I even got a video of us managing to have a wee bit of talk with the guys, making them laugh, even. *happy* These boys are ridiculously adorable, a bunch of puppy dogs. More happened, but can't tell that.
I love Cologne, I love Germany, I love Nokia, I love Tokio Hotel, I love the Kaulitz twins <3 (and Nordsee, and the stores, and the food, and the Hyatt Regency biergarten with its view on the Dom) Current Mood: ecstatic

10:04 pm - Things to do on YouTube when you're bored James sings at the Valentine's thingy event.
Poor Robyn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nK2vAmzq_Ds Up on Me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_U7C0ypj4k
BRB, lol-ing too hard.
Oh, actually, I'm lol-ing a lot these days, because it turns out that my baby rock god, Mr Fashion Victim, is, in fact, also a sci-fi lover. My my. I didn't see that one coming. He never ceases to amaze me. Not always in good, but, you know, he's never boring.
Maybe we *could* have conversations longer than 2 minutes, after all. Except it won't happen.
And they just signed for a partnership with Nokia, and I love that since I'm very happy of my recently purchased Nokia XPress Music 5800 (in short: does all that the iPhone does and a little more, at least all that I need, for much cheaper, and with a black&red design that suits my teen angst vamp memories). 02:27 pm - Fandom news : storm ahead So, TH drummer Gustav Schäfer has been admitted to hospital on Saturday night after being hit with a beer bottle by a guy who had started insulting him at a club (aptly named "The Club") in Magdeburg.
He got stitches on the back of his head, and manager-nanny David Jost went at the hospital to check him and make a PR announcement. He said that Gustav already prosecuted the unknown person.

... Yeah, rock'n'roll! Stalker-punching, car crash, and now club fight. What more does it take to get rocker street cred?
Probably not Tom's Blog :

Meanwhile, I caught a glimpse of the Monster Mania wank, thanks to Steve Himber, and... LULZ, what a bunch of unprofessional fucktards, on both sides.
I have to say, management-stirred wank is better than any fanwank. Current Mood: cheerful

10:09 pm - Chick picks Too bad I'm no longer a fan, it would have been a... great conversation breaker.

By the way, since I have nothing much JM to post, do you want to see pictures of Paris? I'm on a photo spree and have some stock, too... (yeah, the chick picks set was found in Paris) Current Mood: curious

10:02 pm - My babies were briefly back in the news Because Tom (aka dreadlock-twin) punched a female stalker who harassed him once too much. (and crushed a cigarette on his new car. That's after the gang of stalkers moved from France to their condo in Germany for months, got pissed when the twins moved to have some peace, and started stalking them while covering their faces with scarves and Scream masks. And put porn manips of the twins in their mother's mailbox. And allegedly stole the grand-pa's wheeling chair).
... Yeah. Not feeling too sorry for the stalker here.
Also, it's delaying the upcoming album, because the twins were supposed to fly to L.A. to put the last touch to it, but management said they don't want to leave their mum alone now, in case the stalkers (who aren't in jail yet. They pressed charges and the girls pressed charges for the punch, so the case is pending) would attack her again. *grins* True or not, it's cute.
And so, spreading the happy happy joy joy of the band's music, namely this song, Ich Bin Da : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I__sdmB7nmw
because it was their finale in the last European tours, and because while initially I though it was demagogic, it's so true eventually... They are here, whenever I want, I just have to put on my MP3. And they cheer me up immensely.
<3 , boys. Sorry for being a pain in the ass, even if it's not half as much as those psychos. Current Mood: worried

03:48 pm - Mefiant - Steve Sellers A little belated, but I had a lot on my plate when I heard the news. And maybe surprising from Ms Negativity, I know. But when I looked back to GOTR memories upon hearing that Steve Sellers had passed away, I only had funny memories. Not always on purpose...
Like the time I got lost on the way to the Carling Islington, wandering in the neighborhood looking for it, and spotted Steve on the street. Decided to follow him, gathering we were going in the same direction anyway... only to see him a few steps later talking to bobbies (British cops), no doubt asking for directions. ... Eventually, I found the venue by myself.
Another time, the only L.A. GOTR show I attended, I remember Steve Sellers sang this one song :
Mefiant
It's one of his own songs, but it's the only time I heard it live, as he didn't perform it in the other (... many...) GOTR shows I saw.
He did a good job.
I also recall someone saying on a JM board that it was their favorite GOTR song, "because James' voice is so wonderful on it". ... LOLWUT. It's Steve singing on this CD version, as well.
So... farewell, Steve. Current Mood: nostalgic

09:59 pm - *sigh* My babies are MIA They're working on the next album, AFAIK. I suspect also that their fans have scared them into hiding in the mean time. Well, "hiding". With stalkers waiting almost 24/7 outside their homes near Hamburg and Berlin.
*shakes head*
The fandom is going insane with the lack of news, spreading rumors (their best friend being their triplet brother, STD, hidden girlfriends, whatever...) and generally being bored to death.
I'm ok with the spare time, if it means they have time to rest, but I'm so deprived of new music.
So, what's up in your part of the world? Current Mood: bored

10:18 pm - Tokio Hotel wishes you a Happy Valentine... ... early...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mzPWdn8BvE
... very early, since it was apparently recorded on October 30th 2008, when they were in NY...
... Happy Valentine, the day before Halloween. Right.
Hm, they're German, they're doing it differently? Dunno. I do know. It was recorded in advance for a teenie mag because they weren't going to be back in US for it
They're awfully cute though. I know you're working on the 3r album, bbs, and you need to rest, because you worked your pretty non-existant asses for the whole of 2007, but really, if you showed up just a tiny bit on Valentine's Day, it would be swell. I'm a lil' bit in cuteness withdrawal.
And I bought a Nena compilation because I was in withdrawal of new songs in German, too. Current Mood: awww

10:25 pm - Valentine with Dragon Ball? I never bothered to cancel from Whedonesque, so I must say I was quite surprised to read this :
James Marsters announces Valentine's event.
http://www.jamesmarsters.com/
James Marsters announces a one day event in NJ on February 15th 2009 at the South Orange Performing Arts Centre. Tickets, limited to 150 people, are on sale now.
According to the website the event includes. - exclusive theatrical performance - signed souvenir from Dragonball - personalised autograph - Q&A with James - photo session (with professional event photographer) - acoustic concert - screenings - free raffle for exclusive goods
(adding the price since it adds to the fun/fear factor :) Tickets cost $195 for the full day event and concert. Premier tickets (front two rows only) cost $225. The event is limited to 150 people only.
... I LOL-ed so hard, I probably woke up my neighbors. And the thought of a "signed souvenir from Dragonball" right after a head-walling theatrical performance (judging by experience and his usual taste in the matter) is... Anti-Valentine. Nah, I just can't single anything out, it just looks like a gigantic joke. In New Jersey.
Myyyyyyy gods. And TH fans complain about their fan party in Hamburg last month. Dude. It's all relative. Current Mood: relieved

10:23 pm - A JM-related post (from Liverpool) Yeah, you didn't expect it anymore, did you?
I was in Liverpool 2 weeks ago, to stalk my German babies do some sight-seeing, since I hadn't had the time to do so when I'd gone there to see James performing at the Cavern Club, ages ago, when gigs were good and it was fun.
I did stalk around hotels a lot, visited the Walker Gallery, saw the Cathedral and stuff. For nostalgy value, I also went back to the Cavern Club, looking for this :

No, I'm not talking about Pestilence Sid Vicious John Lennon's statue. The brick with James Marsters' name on it is behind his neck. And I don't mean the brick that's going to break JM's skull one day.
So I gather they DO put a brick on the wall for each and every single artist performing there. Oddly, there is a GOTR brick just beside. Why, oddly? Because the initial brick with their name is still where I first saw it. So, they have TWO. *shakes head*
They only played once there, didn't they?
FYI, I was "front row" at the hotel, got 3 unindentified scribbles from the boys and got to gaze at Bill in shiny black feather-jacket. lulz. I love this boy. He has no fear, I swear. Current Mood: nostalgic

06:08 pm - My German babies are back in L.A. today Well, in Orange, same diff, for a signing. ... Meeep. They're going to kill them with that schedule :

Mah baaaabies, they already looked worn out in Mexico and it was only the beginning! :(
They're still adorable though. Clicky interview for a radio interview (filmed) in Phoenix, Arizona : http://community.livejournal.com/thromania/25073.html (in English. Well, a bit of Engrish, but it's better than anyone's German in the studio)
The pretty lady with the long black hair is Bill. Yeah, without the hedgehog hairdo he kinda looks like a pretty girl, or a very soft little boy. *sighs*

09:01 pm - Family matters suck, but my fandom rocks. My West Coast week in August was a blast. Totally made up for the suckiest week ever in family matters that was just before (arranging funerals & hanging out in hospitals = not my idea of holidays).
- good shows (not sure Bill's voice has truly recovered from his surgery though :( ), - my babies rocked the House(s) of Blues, - queuing paid off (I'm so not used to that... :P ) so got 2nd and 1st row in 3 gigs - the middle one, I didn't even try to queue for, but still got a decent sight -, - found a guitar pick from the bassist, - Bill wore a Lost Boys T-shirt in Anaheim (80es vampire T-shirt in L.A.? Do you want my death or what?)...
I was so tempted to make a Panda-bear looking like Bill at the Build-a-Bear store outside Disneyland. *whines* They had this adorable T-shirt "One day you'll ask for my autograph", that was so Bill. OMG when he sat on the stage for "Black" a few feet away from me, I was thisclose to snuggle him. He's just the most adorkable thing ever, my lil' elf boy.
I was reasonable though, and didn't fork out 700 Euros to change of plane to attend the signing session scheduled the day of my leaving, announced mere days before we left. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, and signing sessions have a sour taste for me anyway now. I much better like seeing them outside their hotel (or else. I "else" a lot, by happy accident or not o_O Next time I'll speak to them. That will be less creepy).
Also, they won a MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist last Sunday, yessss, on national US MTV. Because their fans are the best at mass-voting online right. IT DOESN'T MATTER, IT MADE THEM HAPPY.
Aww, they're so fresh. Current Mood: chipper

06:18 pm - OMGs he is SO reading my LJ ! and signalling me with his eyes messages!
New JM message on the official website.
"Hello everyone. I'm just back in the States. "Moonshot" was an excellent film experience. The director told me he'd work with me again anytime. I think you all will really like it when it comes out. Looking forward to seeing those of you going to Dragon Con - not sure if I'll be able to squeeze in any other cons this year. Everybody take care.
James"
IS THIS THE ANSWER TO MY PREVIOUS POST?
Aw, don't be sad, James. I will be in Los Angeles on your birthday, by the look of it.
I don't think I'll have much time to stalk visit you, though, even if I had any intention to do so, and despite the fact that one of my fellow TH fan is a Buffy fan. We arrive the day of the show (TH's, obviously), and we're leaving the next day to Las Vegas because... they added another show there on Aug. 22... :dies: And we want to be there on Aug. 21 so we can queue early on the 22th. These kids (and my partners in crime) are going to kill me.
(just in case you have a doubt, yes I am joking. We have a few cases of deluded fans in TH fandom at the moment, which means the whole "He SO looked at me and recognized me and smiled!" mindframe is on my mind - read : I want to stab the one who's claiming that in each post, so I'm getting it out of my system here because hey, different fandoms, same fans) Current Mood: amused

08:11 am - (almost) unrelated : Buffy things to do in L.A. / Cali? We have someone to convince. Are there any Buffy / Whedon related events going on in Cali around these dates (August 15-23)? Are there still places to visit, like the real places where they shot some outer scenes? Current Mood: curious

07:53 am - New TH shows in North America announced Aug. 7 - Starland Ballroom - Sayreville, NJ Aug. 9 - Intl. Hot Air Balloon Fest of St. Jean - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC (Canada) Aug. 11 - House of Blues - Cleveland, OH Aug. 12 - The Fillmore - Detroit, MI Aug. 15 - House of Blues - Chicago, IL Aug. 16 - Myth - St. Paul, MN Aug. 19 - The Fillmore - San Francisco, CA Aug. 20 - House of Blues - Anaheim, CA Aug. 22 - House of Blues - Las Vegas, NE Aug. 25 - Gothic Theatre - Denver, CO Aug. 27 - House of Blues - Dallas, TX Aug. 28 - Verizon Wireless Theater - Houston, TX
... For once there is no JM event around his bday in NA, it's TH that's performing near L.A. on his birthday. The irony, it burns. Uh uh.
Not that I'm considering going.
...
And the last episode of their YouTube channel is ganz ganz cute. Like, you can't get any cuter than that. http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=hxNVkKqKB5s
Bill is awww. Tom too. Twin brother teasing, awww. But Bill especially. He's so dorky and boyish (okay, girlish, rather) and embarrassing his brother. Awww. And their laughs. Ich liebe liebe liebe Bill. Ganz. Even though he went to see the Hairspray musical. Flipping through all the entries of "100 clichés about being gay", this boy. Current Mood: chipper

09:34 pm - Awww, my baby boy has blossomed into a real... ... woman?...

Not a manip. It's him. I swear. We have videos and all.
This picture comes from the Comets Award 2008 ceremony, a few weeks ago, where Bill appeared with his hair all dyed in black and neatly slicked down, instead of the hedgehog hairdo he's famous for (they won everything, BTW).
Cue me going O_o .... ?_? .... O_O *faints* He was undoubtedly that night's most beautiful lady (and wore the gayest clothes at the red carpet. What you see on that pic is all testosterony, compared to it).
... Oh, Bill. So much WTF in such a thin body. *pats his head*
Errm. And so, this is what I'm going to see tomorrow in Dortmund, if we don't get lost driving there. And though he will probably sport the hedgehog do, alas.
if he gets kidnapped tomorrow, don't worry, he'll be safe Current Mood: rushed
